Beauty Army March 2012 Sample Box Options

I was happy to wake up this morning with an e-mail from Beauty Army letting me know that it was time to make my choices for this month. All the choices I started out with were skincare so I retook my profile hoping for a makeup option. No makeup. I retook it again with the choices I thought might give me a makeup or hair care option. I didn't get an option for either. I retook it two more times but still kept ending up with a selection of skincare and anti-aging items. It was obvious that no matter how many times I redid my profile, my options were not going to have something that appealed to me so I just went ahead and made my picks.

And you know what? I'm not really excited by any of it. I just don't get that into skincare and creams. I keep hoping Beauty Army gets more makeup varieties in but so far for the first 3 months there have only been a few.

There are a lot of things I love about this service. I like the packaging, the customer service is wonderful, and I like the idea of picking your own samples. I just wish we had more options.

HauteLook Stila Sale

I randomly check out Hautelook now and then to see what they have in the beauty section and looked today to see they have a Stila sale running. They have other brand sales running, but Stila is the one I'm most familiar with and feel comfortable recommending. The palettes like the one pictured are going for $8.00 (Down from $14), concealer sticks, lip glosses, and a few others are going for $5. Beauty Army Box February 2012 (Box 2)

My 2nd Beauty Army box arrived a few days ago on February 16th. I was more excited this month then I was the first because I liked my sample options more this time around so I was doing the crazy lady checking her mail obsessively act even more then I usually do. Last month the tissue paper wrapping left something to be desired and my eyeshadow broke. I contact them and they offered to send me a free 7th sample this month so I was excited about getting a little something extra this time. It finally came and here's what I got!

I love how when you open the box there is a card saying "Hello Beautiful" looking up at you. While I know Beauty Army box gets around and says this to all the ladies, it still makes me smile.

Last month the items were loosely wrapped and the items came unwrapped in shipment. This month they got it together and every item arrived perfectly wrapped up and safe. As a person who ships a lot of makeup items out, I'm a bit of a stickler when it comes to packaging.

StiVectin-SD .75 fl oz.

Indie Lee Lemongrass Citrus "The Shampoo". I've been experimenting with sulphate free poos lately so I'm happy to try this. 2 fl oz.

Joico K-Pak Bio Advanced Restorative Treatment 1.7 fl oz.

Indie Lee Lavender Oil (Small Brown Vial). "The Moisturizing Oil". I like oils. This one is formulated to soften your skin.

Pssssst! Dry Shampoo. This looks like something you would get for free in a hotel to me and the package design looks a little outdated in my opinion. But I like dry shampoos. I use them on one of my daughters who has slightly oily hair to boost her style quickly before she heads to school some days.

LaRocca 24K Gold Cleanser . I like the 24K lotion they make, so thought I'd probably dig the cleanser too.

Full sized blingtone eyeshadow in "purple haze". Two of my very favorite things in one! Purple Eyeshadow and sparkle!!! You throw purple eyeshadow in any of these subscription services and I'm going to instantly like it a lot more!

And there you have it! Box #2 from Beauty Army. Last month I was a bit "meh", but I can honestly say that I really like my box this month. It's mostly items that I will use and fit into my routine. I'm excited to try this stuff, especially my purple eyeshadow. <3

My local Walgreens (Kent Ohio) had this nice selection of gift sets left over from Christmas smack dab in the center of all of the valentines day stuff. They had a lot of perfumes and sets at half off which included a Britney Spears fragrance and lotion set for $9.99, Old Spice sets for $4.99, Color workshop big sets of make up for $9.99, and lots of others. While a few of the bath sets were clearly labeled for the winter holidays, most were not and would make great Valentines Day gifts for your honeys who would never know you paid half off. Please keep in mind that stock and clearance varies from store to store, but it's really common to find the same things on clearance at different branches. For all I know your store might have a ton of better stuff on clearance!

Febuary 2012 Birchbox Spoiler Possibilities

Birchbox still hasn't updated the individual box links yet (grrr!!!!), but they have update the shopping page for February box so we can at least get hints as to what samples our individual boxes might hold. The page features 32 items, some brands we have seen before like Zoya polish and Juicy scents, and there are lots of items I personally haven't seen before in my short time with Birchbox. I'm personally hoping my box has samples of the Violent Lip tatts or the Beauty Blender sponge. Both items I've been itching to try. The Eye Rock Designer Liner looks pretty sweet too.
