OHH EMM GEEE Lime Crime Has A Eyeshadow Palette Coming Out!! (China Doll)

You heard me right! Lime Crime is coming out with a palette! This marks two firsts for the brand.  The first palette and the first pressed shadows.  It's set to go on sale on February 15th and will retail for $34.95. Not bad at all! The individual loose colors run $14 for 2 grams.  These pressed powders are 1.3 grams each and you get 5 colors.

The five colors come all wrapped up in a cute purple tin topped with the Lime Crime unicorn.  Have I mentioned my love for all things purple?

The 5 colors included are..

Fly Dragon Fly – fiery red [matte]
Parasol – sky blue [matte]
Goldfish – bright gold [metallic]
Jade-o-Lade – rich jade [matte]
Lotus Noir – deepest black [matte]

I'm excited about this.  Lime Crime has become one of my favorite brands and I've loved everything I've bought from them.  I will be buying this the day it comes out and will get swatches up soon after!

Beauty Army Box Review January 2012 The First One!

My very first Beauty Army box finally arrived in the mail today! So here is what I got and what I thought...

The box itself come wrapped in a protective white cardboard box that held it nicely in the center.

The box itself is a sturdy black box very similar to a cigar box.  I really like the box.  It's so nice and well done that it will be perfect to reuse.  I plan to use it to store some make up in.

I think the items were originally wrapped in the random pieces of pink tissue paper in the box, but they weren't taped or tied in any way so I'm sure they came undone with the first little shake.

The first item I pulled out was the Blingtone eyeshadow in "morococo" by myface cosmetics. This is a full size product that retails on the myface website for $20.  It looks like a nice color packed with shimmer, but the eyeshadow cake managed to get destroyed in shipment bouncing around the box. I'm glad it's sealed in shrink wrap or that would have been a total mess.

Next is the StriVectin-EV Get Even Brightening Serum.  Truth be told the only reason I picked this was because I know I can sell it on eBay for about ten bucks so I figured that would pay for my month.  Now after reading up on the brand more I'm getting interested and think I'm going to keep it and try it out. 

BOO-BOO Cover up.  This is supposed to help boo-boos heal while covering them.  The jar is tiny.  About the size of a quarter. The label looks like it was printed on a home computer and someone just put a tiny little squeeze into the container. It's not professional looking at all. This may be an amazing product, but I'm far from impressed with the brand based on the packaging of this sample. I regret picking this as one of my samples after seeing it, but I only had 9 options to choose 6 items from.

LaRocca Pumpkin Fleur de Sel Body Polish.  I've been happy with items I've tried in the past so I look forward to trying this.  If you like pumpkin smells, your going to love this.  It smells yummy!

Sheaterra Organics Rose Hips Black Soap 1oz size.  I opened it and took a sniff, but it couldn't really detect a smell of any kind.  

Chella Anti-Fatique Eye Mask Kit.  Well this one looks like it will be fun to play with! 

And that was my first kit!  Right now I have really mixed feelings on this service.  I think it's worth the ten bucks for sure, but I'm not in love with the lack of selection the website offers, and was a little turned off by the boo-boo cover up and broken eyeshadow.  I did contact the company about the damaged item and hope to hear back from them soon. I plan to stick with it for a few months and see where it goes, because this is just the first month after all.

When I was at Rite Aid last night grabbing the new design list for the new Salon Effects, I also grabbed this color list of the new Sally Hansen Gem Crush line.  I haven't tried them yet, but the colors are pretty and look like they are packed with sparkle!

New Products From Tarte

The only bad part about getting email updates from brands I like is seeing all of this amazing stuff I WANT NOW.  Today I got an email from Tarte showing me the new stuff they had out.  Every since I got my True Blood Palette for Christmas, I'm quickly becoming a Tarte fangirl. Due to not being filthy rich, I'm currently on a short term no-buy period so I thought I'd share this new stuff with you so you could drool along with me, or get some for yourself.  So here are the new goodies...

Tarte Amazonian Clay 12 Hour Full Coverage Foundation for $38. Tarte claims this is the brands most anticipated foundation launch ever. They say that it's  nutrient rich multi-tasking Amaozonian clay reduces dryness and flakiness, improves skin clarity, elasticity, firmness, and texture while removing oil from the skins surface for smooth application and wear.   

Sounds like a perfect winter foundation. My skin is pretty normal most of the time but when winter hits I tend to dry out a bit.  I like the idea of a foundation adding moisture and and actually making my skin look better while it's still doing it's regular job of providing coverage. 

And if your worried about how to apply it, Tarte also has out a new airbrush finish bamboo foundation brush for $32.  They claim it will give the appearance of airbrushed skin without the airbrush.  A little pricey for a brush in my opinion, but if it works like they claim it does, I can see it's value. I'd have to try this myself to believe it, but it does look pretty with it's bamboo handle!
