Julep Maven My First Month "Classic With A Twist" April 2012

Just a few days ago I blogged about ordering my first month of the Julep Maven monthly nail care box because they were running a deal to get the first month for a single cent. I went with the free maven shipping service that indicated it would take about a week to receive.  I was pleasantly surprised when it came only three days after I ordered. Three days! (I really love fast shippers) Here's what I got....

I was impressed by the packing.  It looks like they pride in wrapping and presentation.  The nail polish was also wrapped in bubble wrap inside of that pick bag.

The style they picked for me after I took the quiz was "classic with a twist".  Not sure why I got that style.  I guess they don't have a "trashy and loves it" kinda style. My box included..

1) Nail File
2) Glycolic Hand Scrub 3 fl oz
3) Nail polish in Charlotte (creamy purple)
4) Nail polish in Jennifer (pale pink)

Of the two polishes one was sealed in shrink wrap, but the other wasn't and the sticker on it was raised a bit like it had been twisted open before.  I'm not sure why it wasn't sealed, but I was glad to get a purple because it's one of the few colors I wear on a regular basis on my nails.  The hand scrub was a generous size at three ounces and I hope to use it soon.  The way the box reads it's a scrub to be used before applying Julep hand cream. I assume that will come in a later box.

Overall it's nice box but I'm still not 100% sold on it and I can't say that I feel like it's worth $20 a month yet.   It was however totally worth the one cent my card was charged.  If your considering giving it a try I'd say now is the time to do it though because they are still running the penny offer and if you aren't happy you can call and cancel before you get billed again and only be out a penny.  Just enter the coupon code PENNY at checkout on the Julep Maven website and choose the free shipping option.
